M876 at Denovan Road Bridge

26 August 2019

Overnight Maintenance

UPDATE: This scheme has been rescheduled to 23rd September 2019

Essential parapet replacement work will take place overnight on the M876 at Denovan Road Bridge between 9pm and 5am, each night from Monday 26th August until Monday 7th October 2019.

This scheme, with a value of £50,000, will benefit around 27,000 vehicles using this section of the M9 each day, by improving the condition of the structure and carriageway, and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.

This work requires overnight lane closures of Lane 1 and the hard shoulder of the M876, and full overnight road closures of Denovan Road (from 9pm to 5am), with a signed diversion route in operation. These roads will re-open as normal outwith these times.

Traffic heading north-east on Denovan Road will be diverted to the B905 and will join the A883 at Checkbar Roundabout. Traffic will continue along Denny Main Street to Stirling Street and will then join the A872 until Denovan Road where the diversion will end.

Traffic travelling south-west on Denovan Road will follow the same diversion route in the opposite direction, following signage on the A872.

This scheme has been planned in consultation with Transport Scotland, Traffic Scotland, the emergency services, bus operating companies, and Falkirk Council.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
