A876 CLACKMANNANSHIRE BRIDGE AND A985 KINCARDINE BRIDGE PRINCIPAL BRIDGE INSPECTIONS COMMENCE THURSDAY 17ST SEPTEMBER
Principal bridge inspections will take place overnight on the A876 Clackmannanshire Bridge and A985 Kincardine Bridge from Tuesday 17th September until Thursday 26th September 2019. The inspections will be carried out between the hours of 7.30pm and 6.30am, each night.
Principal inspections aid with the identification of future refurbishment works that will ensure the longevity of the structures and that they are safe for use by over 6,000 vehicles each day.
To allow the inspections to take place there will be traffic management installed to allow for lane closures on the A876 Clackmannanshire Bridge during the evenings of Tuesday 17th September and Wednesday 18th September 2019. Inspections under lane closure will recommence on Clackmannanshire Bridge from Tuesday 24th September until Thursday 26th September 2019.
The A985 Kincardine Bridge inspection will take place from Thursday 19th September until Monday 23rd September 2019 and requires a full road closure at this location. A signed diversion route will be in operation.
A985 westbound traffic will be diverted at Longannet (Toll) Roundabout onto the A977 Toll Road, travelling through Kincardine and Kilbagie. At Kilbagie Roundabout, road users will take the first exit onto the A876 Clackmannanshire Bridge southbound. The diversion will end at Higgins Neuk Roundabout.
Eastbound traffic will follow the same diversion route in the opposite direction.
