- SUMMER PLANTING DAY, FRIDAY 23rd JUNE -
A community planting day is being planned for the flower beds adjacent to the A68 trunk road through Pathhead village. The event, which is being supported by Amey, the company responsible for managing and maintaining this stretch of the trunk road network, is taking place from 10.30am until 3.30pm on Friday 23rd June 2017.
Local volunteers are being invited to join members of Amey’s Highways Maintenance and Landscaping teams, in planting colourful and vibrant new summer beds at a number of locations along the main street.
Tom Wallace, Account Director for the South East Trunk Roads Unit, said: “We are looking forward to improving several of the existing flower beds in the village, adding more vibrancy to these locations and further enhancing the biodiversity of this recognised conservation area.
“This will be a unique opportunity for residents with green fingers to work alongside our landscaping experts and together make a positive contribution to the local community.”
Anyone interested in participating can contact Amey via A68community@amey.co.uk
Alternatively they can write to: Amey Community Planting, c/o Bilston Glen Depot, 6A Dryden Road, Bilston Glen Industrial Estate, Bilston Glen, Midlothian EH20 9TY
