M8 Junction 5: North Lanarkshire Council resurfacing scheme

North Lanarkshire Council are planning resurfacing work around the M8 Junction 5 (Shotts Road) at the junction of the B7066/B7057 between the 11th March and 13th March 2017. The M8 Junction 5 is being closed to accommodate this work.

The following diversion routes will be in operation:

M8 J5 Closed Both Directions for surfacing works on B7057 

Vehicles travelling westwards on the M8 wishing to access
the east side (B7066) of the closure should exit at
Junction 4A then
proceed south-westwards on Heartlands Road, south-
westwards on the B7066, westwards on East Main Street
(B7066),
westwards on West Main Street (B7066), westwards on
Edinburgh Road (B7066) westward on Hirst Road (B7066) to
the east
side (B7066) of the closure.

Vehicles travelling westwards on the M8 wishing to access
the west side (B7066) of the closure should exit at
Junction 4A then
proceed south-westwards on Heartlands Road, south-
westwards on the B7066, westwards on East Main Street
(B7066),
westwards on West Main Street (B7066), southwards on Old
Eastfield Street (B717) south-westwards on West Benhar
Road
(B717) and north-westwards on Shotts Road (B7057) to the
west side (B7066) of the closure.

Vehicles travelling eastwards on the M8 wishing to access
the west side (B7066) of the closure should exit at
Junction 4A then
proceed south-westwards on Heartlands Road, south-
westwards on the B7066, westwards on East Main Street
(B7066),
westwards on West Main Street (B7066), southwards on Old
Eastfield Street (B717) south-westwards on West Benhar
Road
(B717) and north-westwards on Shotts Road (B7057) to the
west side (B7066) of the closure.

Vehicles travelling eastwards on the M8 wishing to access
the east side (B7066) of the closure should exit at
Junction 4A then
proceed south-westwards on Heartlands Road, south-
westwards on the B7066, westwards on East Main Street
(B7066),
westwards on West Main Street (B7066), westwards on
Edinburgh road (B7066) and westwards on Hirst Road
(B7066) to the
east side (B7066) of the closure.
