RESURFACING AND EXPANSION JOINT REPLACEMENT ON M9 PLEAN BRIDGE COMMENCES 5th DECEMBER
Essential maintenance work - with a value of around £92,000 - to replace expansion joints and resurface the carriageway on the M9 at Please Bridge, will commence on Wednesday 5th December.
Essential maintenance required on the M9 A9 Plean Overbridge which will create a watertight seal on the top structure and prevent the migration of water to the sub-structure elements and prevent further deterioration. In addition, drivers will benefit from the improved rider quality over the structure and undertaking this maintenance now will ensure more extensive and disruptive repairs are not required.
Resurfacing work will take place overnight between 8pm and 6am on Wednesday 5th December under a full road closure in both direction - a signed diversion route will be in operation while this working is taking place.. This will be followed by an expansion joint replacement under continuous daytime phased lane restrictions, from Thursday 6th December until Friday 14th December.
Traffic will be diverted via the M80/M876 and A803 Haggs Interchanges on 5th December during the night works. Phased lane restrictions will then be in effect from 6th to 14th December.
Emergency vehicles will be permitted access through the works.
This scheme has been planned in consultation with Transport Scotland, Traffic Scotland, the emergency services, bus companies, residents and Falkirk Council. A letter drop has been undertaken to provide notice to residents who could be disturbed by the increase in the noise level generated by the works.
